Does WAN failover clear old tracked connections ?

Fri Oct 14, 2011 4:21 am

Does multiple WAN failover ( http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Two_gateways_failover ) automatically clear the connection tracking of the "old" WAN interface ?

I'm asking this because I have a router that has two connections, a wireless P2P link, and a PPPoE ADSL connection. We route SIP and RTP over the ADSL connection, and other traffic like vpn over the wireless one. We want to use the wireless link also for VoIP as a failover when ADSL is down. The problem though, is that SIP connections are tracked in connections and if they aren't cleared, then SIP won't work correctly ( and thus, failover doesn't work ).

Does anyone know if failover also clears the old connections from the tracking ?

Cheers!

No it does not. You can reduce connection timeouts in connection tracking settings.

I have changed the UDP lower. Can I request this feature ( automatically clearing tracked connections on failover ) for a future release ?
