Configuring BGP signaled VPLS

Thu Dec 15, 2011 5:10 pm

Hello

I have just started using MikroTik RouterOS, which I think is brilliant but i'm in dire need of assistance.

I'm configuring a BGP signalled VPLS network using v5.2 (MikroTik) which is part of my research topic.
I'm having difficulty in configuring the BGP protocol for VPLS.
I've looked at the BGP_based_VPLS example but i'm not succeeding in emulating a similar network.

Please help with a detailed/step-by-step BGP_VPLS configuration.

Much appreciated.

Kind regards

to add interface as bridge port

/interface bridge port
add interface=ether1 bridge=A
add interface=ether2 bridge=B

/interface bridge port
add interface=ether1 bridge=A
add interface=ether2 bridge=B

Using VMware Workstation on 2 computers (PC) running on windows XP, I created 5 mikrotik routers on one machine (PC) and 5 clients on the second machine (PC). The 2 computers are connected via a D-link switch. So i only have 1 ethernet interface as shown in the attachment.
So how would I configure the client to router interface and vice versa.

Kind regards
