Im just looking for some advice. I have a Mikrotik x86 that I has vpns to about 20-30 sites.

Question1)
Which VPN type is going to be the best for me to use pptp,sstp,l2tp, ipsec? There is not alot of traffic flowing through the vpn but there is a fair amount, mostly just snmp stuff.

Question2)
All this VPN traffic goes over 1 Internet connection, is it possible for me to equally limit each vpn interfaces bandwidth over the internet link?

I would use pptp or l2tp. If you need to use IPSec for security I would run it over the pptp or l2tp.

In /ppp profile you can set a rate limit on each profile. If all of your sites are on one profile you could set the limit for all sites very easily.

What about the perfomance of opnvpn with mikrotik for multiplesites?

MPLS/VPLS layer 2 or layer 3 is the best and fastest form of vpn, rest add overhead per packet where mpls is only 4 bytes per packet where GRE add up to 40
