Issue with EoiP concentrator configuration

Tue Feb 07, 2012 11:50 am

Hey All,

I am trying to setup a RB1200 as an EOIP concentrator with PPTP.
I've successfully RB750 to RB750 and been happy with the results.
We are trying to setup the RB1200 to be a concentrator for Eoip Tunnels to Isolated DR networks at our Datacentre for clients.

The pptp connection goes fine and so does the EoiP but I've hit a snag in the Bridge interfaces.

I have only one cabled plugged in Ether1. All Vlan interfaces I have created are child to this interface.

I've created say VLAN 10 and VLAN 20 as the isolated networks.
Eoip1 and Eoip 2 say the two eoip tunnels.

Create Bridge1 which is VLAN10 and EoiP1. No problem here works fine.
Create Bridge2 which is VLAN20 and Eoip2. Mikrotik does not respond arp or ping on the Bridge2 IP.

Bridge1 / Eoip1 is still working fine. Testing the Eoip2 tunnel from router working fine.
Just the Bridge2 is not accessible from the local vlan20 network, where as Bridge1 is accessible from the local Vlan10 Network.
Triple checked my settings even trash config and re setup with no luck.

Has anyone tried to do this or can see where I am going wrong?

Thanks Heaps,

Zong Chan.

Update:

After a few more hours troubleshooting.
Found that the issue was with the second eoip tunnel as I removed the first one completly from config.
Everytime applying the eoip tunnel to both bridges at both ends caused arp issues at both ends.
Leaving eoip off one of the bridges confirmed both bridges interfaces worked fine.

Going to get some more RB750GL's to test eoip concentrator design on the RB1200 to other networks.
May be an issue with that RB750GL or that network it was trying to bridge at the second site.

Cheers,

Zong

Update:
Got the RB750 back here and setup a test network with exact same ip settings.
Worked perfectly.
At least confirmed Eoip Concentrator works.

Now to find out what on that network is causing the issue.
