Which band is configured on your RB751?
What do you see at /interface wireless registration-table print stats?

RouterBOARD 751 wireless works great with any 802.11b/g/n compatible device

If you look at Wireless -> Registrations what signal level and speed do you see the client connect at ?

Have you checked that you are using a clear channel ?

If using WPA2 make sure you use AES CCM (not TKIP)

There are quite a few settings which can be altered which may help

This is what I have on my RB at home:

band=2ghz-b/g/n
basic-rates-a/g=6Mbps,9Mbps,12Mbps,18Mbps,24Mbps,36Mbps,48Mbps,54Mbps
basic-rates-b=1Mbps,2Mbps,5.5Mbps,11Mbps
channel-width=20/40mhz-ht-below
country="united kingdom"
distance=indoors
frequency=2452
frequency-mode=regulatory-domain
ht-basic-mcs=mcs-0,mcs-1,mcs-2,mcs-3,mcs-4,mcs-5,mcs-6,mcs-7,mcs-8,mcs-9,mcs-10,mcs-11,mcs-12,mcs-13,mcs-14,mcs-15
ht-guard-interval=long
ht-rxchains=0,1
ht-txchains=0,1
l2mtu=2290
max-station-count=20
mode=ap-bridge
radio-name=RB751U
tx-power-mode=card-rates
wireless-protocol=802.11
wmm-support=enabled
Hope that gives you a few ideas

Nick.

One thing I have noticed is that if my laptop card is in power saving mode (eg laptop running on batteries)
then the throughput is terrible when talking to my RB751U

Seems it doesn't like the DTIM which the RB provides in the beacons.

I can fix it on linux using iwconfig eth1 power off
