PPTP Disconnecting

Mon Jun 18, 2012 10:34 pm

I have setup PPTP between two MT routers. Upon power on at cleint router, the PPTP link is establsihed and stays up for about 6 minutes, but then it disconnects. I set "Dial-on-Demand" in the client router to default NO becuase I assumed that meant "always stay connected"? Older versions of firmware did not have the "Dial-on-Demand" option setting and those client units always stay connected. Can anyone tell me the purpose of "Dial-on-Demand" setting and how it works. Any other reasons why client drops the connection?

This is difficult because I have no one to work with at the client end. The purpose of the tunnel was to allow me to remotely maintain the client router.
