bridge filter for dhcp

Sat Sep 01, 2012 11:46 pm

Hello,
i have a bridged network that has two distinct DHCP servers on each side, problem is that it's giving wrong leases on both sides of the bridge.
So i need to implement a bridge filter that stops one network to giving leases to the other and viceversa, how can i do this?.
i've tried blocking broadcasts in forward, input and output and what it accomplished was that the utik ended up being locked out, no ping response, no traffic through network, nothing.

network islike this:
LAN1--utik----utik---LAN2

Select "use ip firewall" in bridge settings then you can block via the interface in the firewall.

It might be a good idea to be thinking about moving away from a bridged network though. :)

i'll try that.
The idea is to move TO a bridged network, we already had a routed ntwork and the ammount of problems it brings just doesn't cut it, the topology is way too complicated with multiple gateways all over the place
