L2TP server lost connection if traffic moves to anouther int

Mon Oct 08, 2012 4:16 pm

Hello,

We use L2TP server on Router OS.

The client make connect to certain IP address "X" (of L2TP server) that was configured on interface vlan "A"
The route to the client goes also through vlan "A".
Everything works.

But when the route to the client is moved to interface vlan "B" (as a result of BGP change), connection will be lost.
But ping passes.

Allegedly, the server starts to answer with other IP address (registered on vlan B)
But why so occurs and how to correct this?

Hi,

I found a workaround - to add in all incoming route filters parameter of the local source address.

sample:
/routing filter>
add action=accept chain=ix-in match-chain=avoid-bad set-bgp-local-pref=200 \
set-pref-src=x.x.x.x
^^^^^^

On the other hand, it is not clear, why L2TP the server doesn't answer from that address on which request is coming?

The above method is a little inconvenient.
And for IPv6 at all it is not possible to set the source address.
