just to ask what exactly means "Pause frames" on RX Stats interface ether13 rb1100ah ; when the rb110aah is receiving ~140 Mbit/s from the peer (cisco router).

The question is if the pause frames are sent by the mikrotik to the cisco in order to stop receiving or the pauses are being sent by the cisco to the mikrotik.

It happens only at peak time while ether13 rb1100ah receives ~140 Mbit/s and sends ~50 Mbit/s; also the latencies (pings) to the cisco peer goes very high and are very variable (1-2ms, then 15, then 1-2, 100, 1-2, etc...)

What I want to figure is which router is overloaded. Also the selection of ether13 for this link is the recommended in terms of performance..

further to the previous questions, what is the best configuration in terms of ethernet ports for this scenario?

<internet> ---- rb1100ah ---- local network

the rb1100ah routes public ips from internet to lan and viceversa (all static), also does nat for some local private ips, few vpns and it has some firewall rules

both internet and local network ports are 1 gigabit
