RouterOS 6.0rc6 (RB2011) - NTP Client not updating

Sat Jan 19, 2013 5:58 pm

Hi guys,

I'm trying to get my RouterBoard to get time automagically, but not matter what I do, it ain't updating.
I've tried different servers, and I've even allowed port 123 on the firewall.

Please see below ntp client print:

enabled: yes
mode: unicast
primary-ntp: 196.4.160.4
secondary-ntp: 196.2.45.66
poll-interval: 16s
active-server: 196.4.160.4

clock print:

time: 02:19:21
date: jan/02/1970
time-zone-name: Africa/Johannesburg
gmt-offset: +02:00

On a side not, I don't see the NTP Client package in winbox, is that to be expected?

Any advice much appreciated!

Mines working. All I did was paste pool.ntp.org into the IP address field

ntp package is NOT installed on my system

You should probably upgrade to RC7 now its available although ntp worked fine for me on RC6

Mine is also working now, I tried a completely different countries' NTP servers, and it's working now. Strange. Might be that a cluster of NTP servers were unreachable? - Just my luck.
