Mikrotik PPPoE client connecting to Juniper PPPoE server

Tue Jul 23, 2013 3:42 am

Hi,

Are there any know compatibility issues with Juniper's that are terminating the PPPoE connections from Mikrotik PPPoE clients.

The connection works fine on my laptop etc, but am not having any luck with the mikrotik routers, (its complicated, generally not recieving PADO responses and and in the odd occasion when I do they seem to be corrupt, ie 01 03 (Host-Uniq) 00 04(Lenght) 00 00 00 06 03 00 00 28(data section is longer than the length specified)

PADI's that are being sent

Mikrotik is sending

0000 ff ff ff ff ff ff d4 ca 6d 45 73 fc 88 63 11 09
0010 00 00 00 0c 01 03 00 04 00 00 01 39 01 01 00 00

The important bits being the PPPoE option tags
01 03 (Host-Uniq) 00 04(Lenght) 00 00 01 39(data)
01 01(Service-Name) 00 00 (Lenght)

vs my macbook is sending

01 01(Service-Name) 00 00 (Lenght)
01 02(AC-Name) 00 00 (Lenght)
01 03(Host-Uniq) 00 08 (Lenght) 08 b4 6d 19 80 ff ff ff(data)

Any thoughts?
