Feature Request: Bypass Hotspot

Fri Jun 08, 2012 6:27 pm

Hi,

A feature that would be really cool is the ability to bypass traffic from the hotspot accounting system completely.
So when I have an address in the walled-garden, don't send traffic from that site to the external AAA server. Make it completely bypassed.

The best current method to do this is either:

a) Use NetFlow to refund this traffic on the fly (or after the session has completed)
b) Use NetFlow to record all traffic and radius only for authentication and ip tracking.

Could you explain more what you mean, using netflow?

Currently I do this using a Virtual KVM RouterOS.

So the first hop is a router without hotspot, then it has routes to networks that shouldn't be counteted and a default route to the hotspot

We really need this feature, as the main need of walled garden is to exclude it from the paid service or limited service , when we had a limited data plans like 1GB or 10GB permonth the walled garden ip's should not be accountable

Iam using DMAsoft radius , which is based on free radius.

Please if there is any other solution , please post how to do it

Post complete steps

Thanks
