Poor TCP Performance through CCR

Mon Nov 11, 2013 12:00 pm

Hi,

im using since 6 Month the CCR1016 (v6.6 now), just BGP and routing some /22 Prefixes over VLAN to Internet. No other config.
If im gonna test the TCP Performance it's just 3 - 6 MBit(!) But there are 1 GBit (per Direction) available.

Working as Excepted: (Networks are just sample, im using public IP Space)
Ether 1: Switchport 10 (Net: 10.0.0.1/24)
Ether 2: LACP Bond 1 (Net: 10.10.0.1/24)
Ether 3: LACP Bond 1 (Net: 10.10.0.1/24)
Ether 4: Uplink (Public Transfernetwork IP)

if im using wget from ether 1 to LACP (and reverse) im getting 120 MB/secs BUT if im use wget from Home DSL (100 MBit Down) my CCR just sends 3-6 MBit/sec. But if im download from external into my Servers behind the Router im getting nearly 1 GBits Fullspeed.

Has someone else these Problems? Im asking because MikroTiK isnt able to fix this issue since over 4 Month.

I do not see how original question can help you to resolve the issue.
Please contact MikroTik support (support@mikrotik.com) with detailed description about your setup and way how performance is tested. CCR performance is much better that listed at your results.

Im sending it again out.

Tested it with multiple Ways:

1) BTest, UDP = Fullspeed, TCP only in one Direction Fullspeed.
2) Wget through the Router, same Result.

Try to lower your ethernet interfaces to 100Mbits. The CCR has in my setup some problems with 1gig speed.

Yes, but the other end was a Brocade Core Swtich, rightly configured because some other Devices like HP Switches had no trouble.

Btw, its sill open. For Production we switched to Juniper Core
