Simple Queue Question?....

Thu Dec 05, 2013 8:36 pm

Suppose I have

ros code

add target=10.0.0.30/32 max-limit=unlimited/unlimited
add target=10.0.0.0/24 max-limit=1M/1M
What would the net result be?... It seems like even though .30 matches the first queue it is still being limited by the second queue.... My goal is to limit the network 10.0.0.0/24 to 1M/1M, but allow .30 unlimited/unlimited...... what am I missing here... Thanks.

pretty sure if you set the priority (in the advanced tab for the simple queue) for the individual higher than the subnet it will behave as expected.

What about if they have the same priority?.... The wiki is a bit sparse when it comes to the simple queues.

Isn't the order important here.
Put the limiting rule first, and then the specific rule for the .30 address below.

I just did a little test and it seems I was wrong. Order does matter but the rule for the single system must be as first.
I have tried it with 2 rules.

ros code

add max-limit=256k/2M target=192.168.211.150/32
add max-limit=256k/1M target=0.0.0.0/0
And this will give me a resulting speed of 2Mbit from system with mentioned IP address
What version of RouterOS are you using. I'm on version 6.5
