[RB2011+usb disk] After update (v6.7 to v6.9) - Disk invalid

Sun Feb 16, 2014 5:20 am

Hi all,

I have big problem. I know that using USB disk with RB2011 + SMB is not good for use, but its cheap solution for disk sharing on lan with few users.
But after RouterOS upgrade from v6.7 to v6.9 disk status is invalid, before update was everything OK. We have on disk a little important historical data, so I need to know, how to rescue it.
I try to connect it to linux computer, because linux knows more filesystems, but can't read it.

What filesystem RouterOS uses? It's any chance to rescue data on disk or not?

Thanks for your answers and sorry for my english + lame informations - I'm new in Mikrotik community.

@borisbockl: You can try a downgrade back to 6.7 and backup the data (in winbox drag and drop the 6.7 firmware to files and then hit the "downgrade" button in system->packages). I would let the harddisk disconnected until then.

@plisken: they try to recover the data, not getting the disk working on the latest firmware. Formating doesn't help.
