Port mirroring not working

Sun Mar 16, 2014 10:43 am

Hey all!

Just got my RB2011U and Im loving it. Only issue Im having is with port mirroring. What I want to do is to mirror all traffic coming in and out of the WAN interface (ether1) to ether5. What Ive done is go into Switch -> Switch 1 and set Mirror source to ether1 and mirror target to ether5. However, this doesnt seem to have done much...
 # NAME MTU MAC-ADDRESS ARP MASTER-PORT SWITCH
 0 R ether1... 1500 D4:CA:6D:EC:13:8D enabled none switch1
 1 RS ether2 1500 D4:CA:6D:EC:13:8E enabled none switch1
 2 RS ether3 1500 D4:CA:6D:EC:13:8F enabled none switch1
 3 RS ether4 1500 D4:CA:6D:EC:13:90 enabled none switch1
 4 R ether5 1500 D4:CA:6D:EC:13:91 enabled none switch1
Ether1,2,3,4,5 are all in a bridge together.

Any ideas?

Thanks so much!

As I understand it, the ports can not be in the same bridge group like that. Here is the Wiki page on the switch chip features:

Still havent gotten it to work. In the switch config for switch 1 Ive set ether5 as mirror target and ether1-gateway as mirror source. That doesnt seem to do much. Then Ive also set a switch rule that says all traffic going to ether1-ether4 should mirror.

How should ether5 be configured? In the same bridge as ether2-4 or not? Should it have a master port or not, etc?

Thanks so much for your help.
