RB750UP and PowerBox unable to turn on Mikrotik Devices

Mon Sep 21, 2015 2:17 pm

Hi there,

I'm trying to turn on one SXT Lite5 and one cAP via PoE using PowerBox or RB750UP.
I turn on the PowerBox via PoE on ether1 and put on ether2 and ether3 one SXT Lite5 and one cAP.
Both of them won't turn on! I also check the cable and tried turning on a RB951Ui-2HnD but there is no way to turn on the device. I tried all the test also with a RB750UP and I got the same results. Ethernet cable used to turn on PoweBox and RB750UP is longer less then 20 meters.
The only way to turn on devices is using the power input on PowerBox without using the PoE in on ether1.
How is it possible?

Try with this:
/interface ethernet poe settings set ether1-poe-in-long-cable=yes

Hi and thanks for your answer.
Does this command turn on the PowerBox or other devices?

You have to run it on PowerBox (or 750UP) only.

Got it. Does the command help PowerBox to turn on other devices?

See the link I posted before. Yes, you can say it helps PB to power other devices, but what it actually does is disables short circuit detection on all poe out ports.

Is there a plan to include this command in Winbox ?
