RB260GSP POE max output?

Thu Jan 07, 2016 12:03 pm

Hi.

Is there a max AMP rating per port for the RB260GSP POE switch?

The reason I ask is that I'm setting up a solution with
1x CRS125-24G-1S-RM
3x RBcap2N
1x RB260GSP POE switch.

The POE switch was supposed to power the 3 access points only , but I see that the CRS125 is also POE capable - and
the total Power consumption is 15w + 3x2w + 6w = 27w so there should be plenty of power from the POE switches PSU (24v 2,5a) ...

Any thought?

EDIT: I found in the manual "max 1A per port", a total of 2.2A total".

So - it SHOULD be ok to power all units through the switch. Any thoughts?

CRS power consumption seems OK, but You should test it. The lowest supported input voltage for CRS125-24G is 8 V, it means current about 1.9 A if power consumption is 15 W.

With original power supply RB260GSP should power these devices without problems.

Note, that there can situations, when powered device requires more current at the starting moment, then on regular load, in such situation you should set PoE Out to "on" mode.
