RB750P-PBr2 mAP_lite

Tue Feb 02, 2016 11:03 pm

Hello everyone!
At last I got mAP lite. And it is really the smallest AP a ever see! But I was surprised when found that power consumption is up to 3,5W. And original power supplier is 2000mA.
Initially I wanted to use 4 mAP lite with Mikrotik PowerBOX RB750P, but the PowerBOX is support no more then 1A per port and 2A in total. And it looks like powerbox becomes useless

Anybody have good experience with PoE and what cheap PoE supplier (multiport injector or switch) you can suggest?

PowerBox comes with 24v 2,5Amp power supply, which is completely fine to power four mAPL. While PowerBox output voltage is the same as input voltage (24V), one mAPL at max power consumption will require 0.145A

Watts roughly *EDIT* Exactly *EDIT* equates to Amps x Volts

24v x 2a = 48w

3.5w / 24v = 0.146a - well below the 1 amp limit per port.

*EDIT* See what i did there :P Cheers Jarda - good info as usual
