I'm wanting to see if the CRS125-24G-1s-RM will do what I need. My home network consists of my providers router (for IPTV [multicast]), a 24 port TP-Link smart switch(TL-SG2424), and a PoE switch for my cameras & AP. No Vlans or anything. I know enough about networking to be dangerous, but when I get into multicast - I get lost.
My goal is to remove the need for the router and/or ideally find a switch that is capable of proxying/forwarding the incoming multicast stream over to only specified ports. My current switch does allow me to forward multicast. But, for some reason it stops my wireless from working and I do not know why (the port its on I didn't enable for igmp snooping so I'm assuming its not going to broadcast to that port).
