How to increase performance on hAP AC and wAP AC connected to RB3011

Sun May 29, 2016 11:34 am

I am new to RouterOs and recently got a hAP AC, wAP AC and RB3011.

The hAP and wAP are setup as AP and connected to eth10 and eth9 on the RB3011.

My laptop is equipped with an Intel AC7260 adapter and Windows 10. Windows 10 shows a linkspeed of 866 Mbs.

When transferring files from laptop to server or NAS on the network which are connected through a GB switch to the RB3011 I get low transfer speeds of max 4MB/s.

How can I improve this speed? How can I troubleshoot this and how do I find the bottleneck?

On my old setup with an ASUS router I got speeds close to 20-25 MB/s, so why is the new Mikrotik setup so slow?

Any help, tips and tricks are welcome.

Which one is the PC connected to, hAP or wAP?

Otherwise is the setup default, or you made custom config? Can you post export ?

Also, why is the NAS connected through another device if you have planty of unused ports on the RB3011 ?

Laptop connected to hAP or wAP doesn't matter much, both show comparative performance.

How do I get export of config and how do I post it? I am new to RouterOS.

Servers and NAS are far from router at the moment and I run just one cable from switch to router. It is a leftover from my old setup.

in RouterOS console (be it SSH or Winbox Terminal), type "/export" and you will get plain text output, or "/export file=name" and you will get a downloadable text file, which you can then find in the Files section and drag to your desktop

Sorry, for my late reply,
I have my setup with RB3011, hAP AC and wAP AC working but at much lower performance than with my ASUS router. Playing high bitrate movies wirelessly is impossible because of stuttering and breakups. Copying files wirelessly takes very long, again compared to my ASUS router. Configuration files follow below.
