yes, JP1 is where FAN can be connected. That is 5V  MAX 0.15A. Make sure not to exceed MAX current.

we cannot guarantee that user will not destroy the device by soldering. And then, the user cannot exceed the electrical limitations of the port or it can damage the circuit.

Little drilled hole with tiny screw can hold a contact too. And without the soldering...

Anyway I am soldering in routerboards too if necessary. Never broke a piece by that.

Add a small resistor and you can use the 160mA fan safely ...

It can not multiply the current, but it can limit it. The fan will operate with somewhat reduced speed, but the board's circuits will be safe.

Sunon Maglev MC17080V1 uses proprietary MagLev/VapoBearing, that supposed to be better in terms of resources, but not really time-tested.
so far i would sitck with ball bearings thus. eg "Sunon Maglev MC17080B1 model for example. also Maglev fans are "High Airflow" fans which would be kinda overkill for tiny/small devices.
for servers or say CCR it was more interesting thing.

The smallest fan i can find is pi-fan its .20A

And rb board is nearly hitting 60 degree

I believe with small fan i can get it down to 50 degrees

No need to afraid. It was stated that mikrotik devices should be working as designed even in 60 degrees of ambient temperature.

Has somebody actually got a fan running on the RB850Gx2? I have soldered a pin header to JP1 and attached a small fan (5V, max 0.05A) with square pad =GND, round pad = +5V. But the fan doesn't start. Also, I don't get any reading on a voltmeter attached to the pins. Do I have to do any ROS configuration for JP1 to start giving out voltage?
