CRS125 temperature spike

Sat Aug 13, 2016 10:31 pm

Hi,

I - by accident - discovered something weird with my CRS125-24G-1S-2HnD.
Every couple of hours, the temperature spikes to 60+ degrees Celsius, and then the next check (polling interval of one minute), it's back to normal.
Time Temperature
13/08/16 20:56 39
13/08/16 20:55 61
13/08/16 16:31 38
13/08/16 16:30 63
12/08/16 13:29 38
12/08/16 13:28 62
11/08/16 21:46 38
11/08/16 21:45 61
I checked the following, during the spike:
- There is no spike in CPU percentage.
- There is no spike in input Voltage.
- There is no increase of memory usage.
- None of the interfaces show increased traffic.
- No scheduled jobs.
- No other Mikrotik (I have 7) show this behavior.

Could anyone explain this?

It may be the same bug as mentioned here?

I think the best way to resolve this is to send a supout.rif to support@mikrotik.com to check it.

Maybe, I have sent support an email with a graph, this URL and the supout file.
Will report back when I hear from them.

The temperature sensor is only an approximate guide, not a calibrated instrument. The earlier devices had tendency to spike sometimes, so I suggest configuring some kind of averaging, and dropping shorter spikes from the graph. Maybe it is possible to tell your software to store the average of 30seconds or so.
