HAP Lite not accessible, is it broken?

Mon Aug 29, 2016 12:26 pm

Hello,

I have an Mikrotik HAP lite here, which is new out of the box, but it is not accessible and the LEDs show a strange behavior:

When I plug in the power-cord, the LEDs of Port 1 and 5 flash together with the power-LED. This happens two times and then all port-LEDs flash together with the power-LED. Then this behavior start again and continue until the power-cord is plugged off.

A reset (pressing the reset-button during power-on) does not change anything. This behavior continues and the USR-LED never flashes.

The router seems to be dead.. It also broadcasts no wlan and it is not accessible, even not with WinBox.

Is the Router broken or is there a way to repair this?

This looks as if the reset button is shorted, either due to the reset switch being faulty, or rusted.

Try netinstalling it.

Keep the reset button pressed prior to applying power, and keep it pressed for 30 secs or more, looking for the Hap lite to appears in netinstall.

If it doesn't, open the Hap and check the reset button, or any reset PCB pads for rust.
