RB-433A

Sun Jun 21, 2009 5:20 am

I changed from a R52 board to a XR-2 board on my AP. works great, but I can not get any ip adds. Got a ton of angry cust. and the tech that takes care of these things is out of town. I reconf. everything looks good, but no ips issued. I have no problems with the 5.8 coming in, just the 2.4 AP. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Larry

All that I did was replace the defective R52. Receiver was down 20 dbm. ie signals received were -90-92. When replaced with the XR-5 the signals from the clients were in the low 70s, this is what they originally were. I was told all I had to do is replace and enable the XR5. I conf. the following: Mode: AP bridge, SSid: SVille, Freq: 2437. Apply and enable. Nothing else. Clients all came back on the register. All the usual stuff you see here. Just could not get any ip assigned to the clients or my lap top. Put the laptop from wireless to the ether1 and internet. 5.8 card is also plugged in the 433. Is there somthing that has to be changed when going from the R52 to the XR2? Or could it be a bad XR2?

Make up your mind. Did you install an XR2 or an XR5?
It's obviously not the same card.

Your problems are:
1) You forgot to change the settings on the DHCP server. You need to assign the DHCP server to the new interface.
2) You posted in the wrong part of the forum. This part of the forum is for hardware issues - you have a software issue.
3) If I "Got a ton of angry cust," I would hire a consultant to fix the problems immediatly, not hope for replies on the forum.

It was the dhcp server. I put in the necessary info and it seems to be working fine.
Many thanks!
