Suggestion / request for Routerboard hardware

Wed Aug 19, 2009 1:08 am

Hello,

I want to suggest for new or upgrade current RouterBoards with at least one I/O RELAY (electrically operated switch) which would be controlled through RouterOS...
That wouldn't be big problem for Your electrical engineers...
Relay would be cool eg. to reset power supplies if on same location other RBs freeze or something like that and You want to restart them (for Output) OR for Input to add motion sensor and log activity on RB... + SCRIPTING it would be WONDERFUL!!! Etc...

And would be nice to add some kind of HARDWARE watchdog not in-software watchdog for reseting if ether/wlan ports are frozen...

Thank You and I hope You will consider about requests :)

You can already monitor serial port signals: http://www.mikrotik.com/testdocs/ros/2. ... gwatch.php
Also, a number of routerboards have fan headers that can be connected to low power relay.

Hello,

I didn't know for SIGWATCH...
Can You tell me how can I control fan headers to send signal to relay?

I can't find how to send signal on fan headers... If I put RELAY there...
