RB411 wlan problem

Mon Oct 05, 2009 11:13 am

i just buyed a rb411,it has RouterOs level 3 license.a friend has a simple MSI Router with wireless interface.
start from default configuration(no configuration)
i do next:i enable wireless interface ,in "wireless tables" double click on wlan1 and set up the band 2.4ghz-b/g,mode: station. after that i install a dhcp-client on wlan1 from ip>dhcpclient>add>interface wlan1.
in wireless tables doubleclick on wlan1 and then "Scan" i can see my friend router.i hit the stop buton and then click "Connect".After that i see in "Wireless Tables" that wlan1 changed ssid from mikrotik to MSI,and the frequency to MSI router.

The problem is that wlan1 don't receive an ip adress. The MSI router has DHCP server enabled.i made a test with laptop and the laptop receive adress from router and internet works.
after that my wlan1 status is "searching for network"
dhcp-client status for wlan1 is "searching".
i read a lot of pages on this forum and wiki and manual and nothing worked except a dhcp server for LAN side.my configuration in picture.
Please help how i must setup to work like in the picture?(sorry for my english mistakes)

How can DHCP client receive an IP if wireless is unable to connect to AP?

Check the logs why station is unable to connect to AP.

The log: it says: 00:19:E0:FA:D4:EE@wlan1: failed to connect,on 2427,authentication time out

What authentication?the friends router don't use wep,or wpa or any kind.just click conect and is working.

Later edit:i unchecked "default authentication".

a video:after i click "connect" http://it.tinypic.com/r/2cermf4/4

it seems that the wlan is not sttoping from scanning.i don't understand what network is searching if i selected tha acces point.

Fixed, the problem was the wireless card, partial damaged, wlan had very low emissivity power, now is working(i replaced the card),i can acces the internet via MSI router, but i cannot acces computer behind msi.
MSI router has 192.168.1.1 my friend pc has 192.168.1.77
mikrotik wlan has 192.168.1.80(received via dhcp from MSI) GW 192.168.1.1
PC1 has 192.168.50.5 GW 192.168.50.1 received via mikrotik dhcp server from ether1
mikrotik router has 192.168.50.1

what should do so the PC1 192.168.50.5 to be able to acces and ping 192.168.1.77.the mikrotik router can ping my friend pc.

Those are two different subnets. You need dstnat.
