problem loading kernel onto RB112

Fri Nov 13, 2009 10:17 pm

Hey there,
I have a RB112 which had ROS2.9.51. A friend of mine loaded 3.28 onto his, and it worked great without any CPU-intensive stuff like OSPF etc, so I decided to give it a go on my router.
I uploaded the full npk to my router's ftp, and rebooted. Update was successful; I then went to Packages in WinBox and disabled unnecessary packages like PPP, routing, hotspot, and then rebooted the router. After rebooting it, the router wouldn't boot up. Since then I've tried many things such as Netinstall to try get back to 2.9.51, as well as 3.28, and also reloaded the bios bootloader (2.18) and even tried an older one (2.7), but I'm constantly getting this error when I try Netinstall:
RouterBOOT booter 2.18

RouterBoard 112

CPU frequency: 175 MHz
Memory size: 16 MB

Press any key within 2 seconds to enter setup..
trying bootp protocol... OK

Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!
Is the router's flash bricked or something? Is there no special dev kernel/firmware I could load to get this working? I've tried everything :/
Thanks
