Help with choosing router. RB750 and RB450G

Tue Dec 15, 2009 2:15 pm

Hello,
I need help with choosing my next router. Local store has RB750 and RB450G for sale. RB450G costs 100$ more than RB750, so I need to know
will RB750 be enough or I have to pay 100$ more for RB450G.

So I need to share 20/20mbit connection with 10 PCs. Clone mac address on my wlan port, increase TTL on outgoing connections by 1, control p2p traffic (limit during day time),
limit number of connections per host and host one game server. Game server uses 3mbit Upload and 1.5mbit download almost all day long.

So will RB750 be able to handle this load ? Will I be able to do all the above and still maintain low latency for my game server ?If you need any more details I will be glad to provide them.

Do you need Gigabit? RB450G has gigabit ports. RB750 is much cheaper, has plastic case and doesn't have a serial port. Performance is also much higher on RB450G because it has the 680MHz CPU.

For what you descibe, RB750 is more than enough (and could handle 10x the load).
