Reset hole TP12 on RB1000

Mon Jan 11, 2010 1:24 pm

I've opened up a RB1000 to try and software reset it and cannot find TP12 to do a software reset. The user guide also does not illustrate where it is. If i connect to the RB1000 using winbox by mac address it disconnects me after several seconds. Please assist.

Here is an image showing the jumpers location. Put a screwdriver on it, and turn it on, until config is reset. We will update the manual

Perfect, i guessed that was the one, was worried I might be shorting the wrong thing. It worked, thx. Another question: I have a config on a RB450G I want to transfer to this RB1000. I have exported a file XXXX.src and downloaded it to my PC. To implement this config and overwrite the default config, what would be the best way?

first, open it with some text editor, and remove by hand all the lines that you don't need imported. by default the RSC file contains also settings where you haven't changed anything, or for configurations that you don't need transfered.

only leave the needed things, like firewall rules or queues.

then simply type '/import name' in the new router.

I understand. It looks like my .src file I exported from my RB450G contains mostly IP related settings. Is it possible to also import my PPP settings and profiles, usernames etc?

by default the file includes ALL your settings unless you remove some
