so -no one- has tried to overclock the 450G ?

Any guess that if I use a fan I will be ok ?

cool !

I will be using a fan on its case, it will be indoors and I will actually place a temp sensor on the chips and monitor..

coooolll.... As long as other things dont get weird at those clock speeds..

I will report here my results.. I get the 450G monday..

Well.....

No.....

Seg faults, kernel panic....

Bad bad bad....

So no go on overclocking a RB450G.... Not gonna happen... At least on mine...

It was odd tho.. I could run the ram check from the boot loader all day long without any issues. It was once the system started that all hell broke loose... Maybe trouble reading NAND ?

I did add a fan before checking that it would work. Bad bad bad... But at least its reporting a temp of 38C..

Ive been overclocking an RB450g in my office for a couple weeks. Its been seeing about 4-5mbit in OpenVPN throughput for 4 days straight and the temp is ~50c. No lockups.

Hello,

Are there real world benefits overclocking those units? I have some around and maybe a I could try... if I knew how to do it!

Thanks

if your CPU is pegged at 100% usage, it can help a bit, but i would not rely on that very much and look for replacement. Also, as you can see, for someone it can work for someone else, it can fail miserably. If it works you get like 17.6% faster CPU and warm fuzzy feeling that it worked for you.

SEE -THAT- was what I was after.... But NOOooOOooo :( :?

Im even sadder that others are over clocking..

( very sad 450G user )

You guys overclocking should watch out. That overclocking might have a very bad effect if you suddenly run 100% CPU for a bit. You CPU will get ALOT hotter then normal clocking without a fan.

Overclocking = fan
