Router Board 750 Blocking MAC addresses for no reason

Wed Apr 14, 2010 10:13 pm

We have installed a Router Board 750 into our wireless network to better manage the users. Everything is working just as expected with the exception of two days ago. We did a new customer install and the radio was getting a perfect signal from the AP, however, it wasn't obtaining an IP address from the Mikrotik. Today we spoofed a MAC address into the radio that was different from its actual address and low and behold it got an IP and off it went. We have had similar instances with customers routers not working as well. Although our work around is functioning is just doesn't make any sense for Mikrotik to block the MAC address of a new unit. We have looked through everything and the address is no where to be found. If anyone has experienced this issue and if there is a correct solution for it I would be in your debt to know what it is.

Thank You,

Steve

Hi,

This is a known issue in ROS 4.6 (see ROS 5.0 beta1 changelog)
Just downgrade to ROS 4.5 and you should be fine.
I wouldn't advise upgrading to ROS 5 beta on production equipment :) but everyone has to decide this for himself.
