Nokia Phones

Fri Jul 30, 2010 5:30 pm

Hi All.

I had a meeting with a VOIP provider today and when I mentioned we had excellent wireless coverage on our campus with Mikrotik gear he asked if we were using Nokia phones. He claimed that they have lots of problems with MT gear and Nokia gear. I told him it was rubbish but when we got back to the office we ran a little test from our local RB AP. Results using MTR to test:

To: Result:
Sony c905 No packet loss
Sony Experia2 No packet loss
Nokia 5800 45% Packet loss
Nokia e72 60% Packet loss.
Nokia e71 35% Packet loss.

These phones were all in the same proximity to the AP. This suggested there is def a problem between Nokia and MT. Has anyone else observed this?

What could be causing this?

Simon

Any clue as to the frequencies, antennae, power output would be kind of helpful.
