Mon Nov 15, 2010 11:01 pm

Hi u all, I u all, I need a expert in here, I'm new to mikrotik hardware, I'm used to other stuff, but that other stuff is getting lame, so now, I have a question in here...

I have a big hotspot almost running and now with repeaters, I need to get my routerboard, but I don't know what I must buy

NIC's...

*LAN*
*Hotspot*
*Internet1*
*Internet2*

I want to block *LAN* form *Hotspot*, block all traffic

and I want to load balance/or/failover *Internet1* and *Internet2* for my *LAN* users and *Hotspot* users, but *LAN* and *Hotspot* must be blocked? is this to much asked?

Any routerboard will handle tasks you described. Everything else depends on how many firewall rules you will have, how well they will be optimized, what will be the total amount of forwarded traffic.

I have never used a routerboard is my life before but I want to try it out because I have seen looking for a solution and that solution can only be fixed with a PC with to many failure points, but the routerboard might be able to help me out I hope....

Here is my options I have:
RouterBOARD 250GS with case and P/S
RouterBoard 433AH 3 port 128MB
RouterBoard 433UAH 3 LAN 3 MPCI 2 USB
RouterBoard 750 - 5 Ethernet Ports, L4
RouterBOARD 750G L4 with case and PSU

I've got no idea why the prices is so different, and also why is there different license levels, what does it mean and why man why?

So, when wireless is not necessary and it is not planned to use it in any time. You have to select between RB750 and RB750G, it depends on that you need gigabit or not.

Supported modems are listed here,

We are adding new 3G modems support on demand.
