Trunking RB1100 switch Alactel-Lucent 6850

Fri Aug 26, 2011 7:31 pm

Hello,

I want to do a trunking between a router RB1100 and an Alcatel-Lucent switch 6850 for vlan ID 40 and 41.

On interface 6 of router. I created 2 sub interface for vlan 40 and 41 with address 192.168.40.254 and 192.168.1.254

From the network 192.168.1.0 can ping the gateway 192.168.40.254 but not the rest of the network only the gateway.

Same problem from the network 192.168.40.0 which can ping only the gateway 192.168.1.254.

I think, I forgot something but where? How to do a routing between these 2 vlan?

Thank

It's a router - it routes between directly connected networks by default. It's what it's for.

Why isn't the traffic making it through past the router's IP on the VLAN? I'd prefer not to guess, so please post the output of "/ip address print detail", "/ip route print detail", "/interface print detail", "/interface vlan export", "/ip firewall export", and an accurate network diagram.
