RB450 - supply voltage 10-28VDC

Sat Sep 10, 2011 7:49 pm

Hello,

we noticed, that the actualhw-revision of the RB450 is not working with power voltages greater than 21-22V. This is a very large problem at our transmission stations because we use 24V industrial power supplies with buffer batteries to prevent outages. Our systemvoltage is exactly 27,4 to 27,6V.

Is there anybody else with this issue ? We tried abaout 25 Routerboards - only the old revision works fine.

Yours,
Martin

How do you identify the older boards from the newer? Are there different marks on the board or different components?

You might be able to find some of the older product and stock up. Otherwise, look for a DC to DC converter that changes 24vdc to 12vdc.

Tom

BTW We generally recommend running them at 12vdc rather than 24vdc for longer life.
