Possibility Bricked Routerboard 1200 Due Firmware Update?

Sat Oct 01, 2011 7:17 am

Hi there,

Any idea that 1 week brand new routerboard RB1200 causing issues ?

First when it comes out from the box it doesn't detect. Then my partner did the reset with the circuit jumpered then manage to get it work.

Then after 3 days of uptime suddenly it hanged and decided to reboot it and then it came back and no issues.

Then after 5 days my partner did a sofware update remotely and then it's kinda not working

I have tried the reset button it doesn't work and also the first method when it comes out from the box

Not tested yet with console cable

Kinda sad now :'-( * sigh *

My first ever RouterBOARD purchase (RB1000) was also an RMA. For about a week I was banging my head against a wall trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. Finally broke down and contacted the reseller, who immediately replaced it after hearing the symptoms.

I've purchased probably around 100 units since (RB1000s and RB1100s) and not a single one has given me any problems. Don't let this one bad experience turn you off.
