I've got a number of Dell R210 (x86) servers in production running MikroTik currently.
These allow for the addition of a remote access port as well (in case you lose access to the device or need to reinstall at any point)

Alternatively you can look at some of the Made For Mikrotik (MFM) devices from mikrotikrouter.com or ogmaconnect.com etc.

I built/manage one for the local cable company.

Core i7 920
3GB DDR3 @ 1066
Supermicro board, can't remember model
512CF w/CF to SATA adapter
1 Realtek GB adapter
1 MT quad gig adapter

Routing 8 subnets, QoS for the entire network.

Running 3.30, 400+ customers on their side, 100+ on mine. The only hiccup we ever seem to have is random autonegotiation issues.

Seem to have those take care of now.
