Jumbo frames 493g

Thu Oct 20, 2011 4:10 pm

Hi,

I understand that the 493g cannot do jumbo frames. What I can't find is whether this is because of the switch chip or the logic in the rest of the board. Would it be able to use jumbo frames between 2 ports that are in switch mode?

MAX L2MTU for interface is hardware limitation. You should choose ppc board to get hardware that is capable to transmit and receive larger packets.

It's the ethernet PHY, swtichchip affects additional 4 bytes but generally limitation is due to phy
