it contains a RB711, so basically you could swap it for a RB711G version. Or we could make a separate Gigabit kit if people are interested.
It will hardly go through spam filters
historians and people dealing with sea navigation are in bigger trouble then.

Hi Normis,
Does it mean it is a kind of DIY kit where the board can be changed by user??
I would have much preferred the 23dbi version but please make it a metal shield enclosure.

metallic casing and 23 dbi antenna please MIKROTIK. 20$ is too much for just 2 dbi antenna gain.

another thing 55$ for 711-5hnd and another 55$ for 18dbi antenna, plastic casing, poe and adapter??

Does a cable with kink protection fit?
For SXT we ordered cables without (not easy to find).

give a picture example of such cable? distance from the connector to the door is not so big, you will need to bend the cable slightly

These do not fit in SXT. May be the space between socket and door of the Sextant is bigger?

usually you can't buy these in lengths for running up a tower. when you make your own cable, then it works fine.

pre-made cable as in the image - it will bend very much, or you can modify the cable hole a little.

As we use SXT for our private customers they need 10-15 meters to reach the top of their building.
We give them preconfigured cables as most of them do not like to crimp. So it would be handsome if
preconfigured cables fit.

new SXT models have this issue solved, and have the Ethernet at a different angle!

For current SXT and SEXTANT you can try shorter ones like this:
http://www.startech.com/media/products/ ... Blarge.jpg

or even something like this :)
http://www.networktechinc.com/cgi-bin/k ... -gray.html

but yes, of course you are right, we will see how to improve this issue.

I agree that the +2dB gain is just not enough for the price difference. I specifically need a nanoBridgeM5 alternative. I currently build out an SXT on a DSS dish to get up to about 25dB.

Also, how about a more narrow beamwidth? I know it makes it harder to aim but can help mitigate interference some.

Exactly.
The Sextant would be a nice and affordable basis for a small base station with backhaul via integrated panel antenna and 2 sectors. As can be seen there are 2 knockouts for N-F Bhd connectors in the case. But this is of no use as the pigtails cannot reach the MiniPCI.....
What about suppying the Sextant with 20cm pigtails?

I guess you guys at MT surely have an impact on how products evolve!
It is obvious that the designers of the Sextant did have the RB433 with MiniPCIs in mind when designing it, because the trunk is big enough for one. They also made knockouts for NF Bhd, :) but for some reason they picked the 10cm pigtails from the shelf....
That's what I call kinda stumbling on the finish line ;-)

Because the unit Sextant and SXT have a problem with interference, was on the Czech forum idea how to make a metal shield.
The shield will be grounded through the metal legs.
Now we see what will be interest, then the price will be determined

On a busy must the noise generated in adiacent channles by a trasmitting unit not shielded may be higher than the radio signal received by the other units, shielding generally prevents bad RX performance.
