Published hardware IPSEC performance on RB1100AH/X2 ?

Sat Dec 10, 2011 4:30 pm

Assuming one uses an RB1100AH or RB1100AHX2 (the one with hardware encryption support) as a VPN concentrator.

How many tunnels could it support at which speed simultaneously ?

Are there any performance testing results for that ?

+1

I'm also curious about these figures. But I guess until at least IKEv2 and UDP support for OpenVPN is implemented it has not much use for me.

Ipsec througput all models:

Old RB1100AH (end of 2010) with Ipsec acceleration 500Mbit
New RB1100AH (end of 2011) without Ipsec acceleration (no HW support) 200Mbit
New RB1100AHx2 (end of 2011) with Ipsec acceleration 800Mbit

Does it matter the number of tunnels ?

i.e. we have 800 mbps to play with aggregate, that is either;

80 tunnels at 10 mbps
or 8 tunnels at 100 mbps ?

Will it also accelerate other VPNs than IPSEC, such as SSTP ?
