Memory fault on 1100AHx2

Thu Jan 12, 2012 1:36 pm

Hello!

I just got a RB1100AHx2 with RouterOS 5.8 on it.
I had a lot of problems including the random reboots described in other forum threads.
So I updated it to 5.11 but still had problems, random reboots and it would just stop responding to winbox (mac connection) and/or just stop forwarding packets.

I ran the build in memory test and it failed, so i guess that is why I have had so many problems.

The log:
This may take some time, ESC aborts testing

Check if there is no visual damage on the board. Can you slightly push down on the SODIMM slot and test it again?

Board looks good. Reseated the RAM module and now the memory test way worse than before, the terminal windows gets flooded with "Error in adress=...." lines.
Kind of weird, the board passed the test with zeroes, ones, x5555555 and xaaaaaaaa.

Ah... Just have to wait for the replacement then...
