Whilst trying to get to the bottom of our other issue with the watchdog timer hang, I've connected via the DB9 serial port on our RB1200 to see what output I get when it hangs. I'm connected at 115200, 8,N,1 and no flow control, but I'm getting gibberish from the console output on Hyperterminal. I've tried different terminal emulation, baud rates and flow control but still get rubbish.

Interestingly I've tried the same setup with an RB1100 we have in our lab and it works fine?!

Is there something I'm missing on the RB1200 that's different to the RB1100?

Scratch this one - just changed the baud rate on the RB1200 from 115200 default to 9600 and it appears to work fine now!

No idea why 115200 baud works fine on the RB1100 but not the RB1200 though.

you can do
and see what baud-rate is set on the port (serial0 is the one accessible form outside)

Thanks, but I did and it was set to 115200.

Changed it to 9600 (and my HT session too) and it works fine. Just not at 115200 for some bizarre reason like our 1100 does.
