RB750GL RB912UAG-5HPnD Gigabit connection problem

Thu Mar 13, 2014 5:44 pm

Hello guys,

I have one RB750GL and one RB912UAG-5HPnD here. I connected them with 1 meter long FTP cable using MikroTik Gigabit POE. I can't establish 1GBps link. It always end up connected 100MBit full duplex.
I'm using latest RouterOS v6.10, configuration is blank.
I tried to disable auto negotiation on RB750GL, and set it to 1GBps full duplex, in this configuration there is no link.
I tried to disable auto negotiation on RB912UAG-5HPnD, and set it to 1GBps full duplex. No link either.

Am I doing something wrong?

The idea is to make more than 100MBps uplink using this set of RBs.

The RB912UAG-5HPnD must be powered exactly with this PoE model
Image or by Power Jack
to go at 1000!

What method to power the RB you use?

Try the cable used between 2 ethernet on RB750 and see if are connecting @1000,
Try to connect directly from PoE [data only] exit to any ether on RB750 (try more than one ether)
if ok, check the cable from PoE to the RB912

Now I realized I had several faulty POE injectors, I've found a good one which works.
