Cut off the "wireles part" of a Groove?

Tue Apr 01, 2014 8:46 pm

Hello

I would like to know if it's possible to cut off the "wireles part" of a Groove 2Hn. Yes, literally cut/saw off the PCB, so that a working "wired" MikroTik device remains, but without the bulky WiFi part?

I want to find the smallest possible MikroTik device for embedding. For example to use it for VPN/remote assistance in a networked device that does not have this capability on its own.

Here are some shots of the PCB (not taken by me):

I would guess that the right side handles the wireless part, but I'm not sure if I just want to find out by using a saw...

Hm, the Crossroads seem to be more expensive than an RB411U (or L). And it's not really small. ;-)

But the mAP looks super!! I will definitively buy some of them! And finally *real* PoE... great! Can't wait to see that product in the stores...
Unfortunately, I'll have to realize the current project in the next few days already. :-|
