RB260GS setup

Mon Apr 14, 2014 1:08 am

Am new to this forum, thanks for your help.

I have purchased an rg260 in the hope that I can use it to divide a LAN 2 subnets that share an Internet access and also a network printer.

The setup would be like this;

Soho Internet router
I
I
RB260
I
----- switch1 (non managed)
I
----- switch2 (non managed)
I
----- printer

Devices on switch1 get Internet access and printer, but cannot see devices on switch2

Switch2 as above but no access to switch1

Problems;
1) on line documentation is "difficult"
2) doesn't seem to be a command line interface to this device
3) I have little experience with vlan's and none with mikrotik

Anyone able to provide a guiding hand?
Can I achieve above through this switch without tagging from the router?
If all devices on same subnet could this be done using port forwards/ACL, if so how?

Ps: cannot get even the simplest vlan topography going using the trunk example on the wiki.

In SwOS Forwarding tab disable forwarding from switch1 port to switch2 port and also disable forwarding from switch2 port to switch1 port. Then it will work as you need with one subnet and without VLAN tagging.
