RB951-2n memory size reported incorrectly by routerOS?

Tue Apr 15, 2014 3:01 pm

Hi,
According to specs, my RB951-2n has a RAM memory size of 32MB. It utilizes a single Samsung K4H511638J-LCCC chip with 32MB density.

However, RouterOS 6.11 reports the following:
/system resource print
                   uptime: 29m22s
                  version: 6.11
               build-time: Mar/20/2014 09:16:21
              free-memory: 45.9MiB
             total-memory: 64.0MiB
                      cpu: MIPS 24Kc V7.4
                cpu-count: 1
            cpu-frequency: 400MHz
                 ..........
..............
Why does RouterOS report total-memory: 64.0MB when it is in fact 32MB (or at least it is supposed to be so)?
And should I believe RouterOS or rather the specs and my eyes?

Thanks!

you should always be happy when you get more than you expected! :)
we upgrade our devices from time to time. to not disappoint the older customers, we wait a while before changing the specifications.

I have a few of the original ones, and you can only set them to 360 MHz (default) or 240 MHz.

For a while, they had 400/300 and I think 240 options, but due to some stability issues with the original models, they set them to 360/240. This is with 6.12 ros / 3.10 fw.
