RB532A - the orange LED is on steady

Wed May 07, 2014 12:55 pm

hi,
I have a RB532A that power is not the first beep and indeed the orange LED stays lit while at the same time you should turn off the beep first start of the RouterBoard.
if I connect with winbox with eth cable I do not see to RouterBoard with both POE and with direct power and LAN cable ETH2
Anyone have any suggestions?
I am not a technician.
.
Thanks for any replies

You will have to check over the serial port.

It will show the booting process over serial, and you will see where the problem is.

Thanks for your attention.
I have already connected via the serial port, but nothing appears.

a curiosity, but the orange LED, what usually indicates the start of the RB?

it is user LED, at the start of booting process it is used to indicate booting process loading bootloader. When it goes down it has finished and control is passed to OS to load.

You could try to press reset button while applying power to force backup bootloader. See user manual for further details.

I have already done all the tests recommended:
- I connected the serial cable with RB: no info on Hyperterminal
- I pressed the RESET key: nothing
- I did the short circuit with the screwdriver on the pins JP1: nothing

I was hoping that you gave me different solutions ..

or should I give up?
