confusion over PoE on RB951G-2HnD and RB260GS

Sat Jun 21, 2014 10:43 pm

:Hi all I'm new to this mikrotik world and I'm trying to confirm if the ether1 ports on these two boxes are PoE in or out.

I'm asking as I've tested them against my netgear PoE switch and a stand a long injector and I can't seem to get eithere of them to power up. The switch/injector happily power another PoE AP I have from solwise and edimax so I know they work.

Am I doing something wrong ?

Many Thanks

It is possible that they are 802.3af PoE switches, but RouterBOARD devices only suport Passive PoE "Over Datalines". These are different methods of PoE, so it could be that they are not compatible.
