ARP Table issue

Mon Jul 07, 2014 7:33 am

Has anyone had an issue with the ARP table not clearing the MAC address and IP information even after the device has disconnected (failed or replaced). We are using RB433, RB493, or RB2011AHx2 for bandwidth control and/or AP.

When connecting a new customer router with static IP address and/or CPE at a customer location. We cannot get online until we manually go into the ARP table of the Mikrotik on the tower side and remove the IP address with the old mac address. Then the new mac address with the same IP address shows up and internet access is available. Why is the ARP record not going away automatically? It does it on most of my other RouterBoards just having this issue on a couple.

Any ideas?

if you have this happened to you on the latest RouterOS, please generate support output file and mention what mac address should have been removed, but isn't. And send it all to support@mikrotik.com

Same thing happening here.

Tech's laptop has a valid IP as his Lease @ POP hasn't expired yet, but CPE gets assigned dhcp but arp table has incorrect MAC.

Actually I believed we resolved our issue by selecting 'Add ARP for Lease' in the DHCP server menu. Maybe be unrelated. Thanks.
